For Immediate Release
In-Home Care Provider,
Sequoia Senior Solutions, Inc. Named One Of The Best
Places To Work For Second Consecutive Year
Petaluma, September 30, 2008 Sequoia Senior Solutions,
Inc., of Petaluma, the largest provider of In-Home Care
for seniors in Marin, Sonoma, Napa, Lake and Mendocino
counties, has been selected as One Of The Best Places To
Work in the North Bay for the second year in a row.
The award was announced at Rohnert Park’s beautiful
Doubletree Hotel Thursday, September 25, at a reception
sponsored by The North Bay Business Journal.
Sequoia Senior Solutions had the highest rating in its
division of companies with 100 – 250 employees. It is
one of only 57 winners of the award. In the Business
Journal’s third annual survey of North Bay workers, 104
companies from Marin, Napa and Sonoma Counties were
nominated for the “Best Places to Work” award by their
employees.
“This award means that our caregivers love their job and
their workplace; and our clients have good reasons to be
happy because we have the best caregivers in the
industry!” said Gabriella Ambrosi, Sequoia Senior
Solutions President and Chief Executive Officer. “It is
a strong indication that our company is still on track
with its mission to ensure a better quality of life for
seniors who want to remain independent and at home in
their advancing years”.
Many staff members work part-time and enjoy flexible
hours, both qualities cited by the employees who
participated in the Business Journal survey. “What
better recommendation is there for a work place than
from the workers themselves? It is our own employees who
are honoring us for a second year!” Ambrosi said.
Ambrosi and husband, Stanton Lawson, founded Sequoia
Senior Solutions in 2003 from their Petaluma home. They
began with just one client, but by their second year
were providing service for 73 clients, more than they
could handle from their own home. The firm moved into a
suite of offices on Lynch Creek Way in Petaluma in 2005
and now has a pool of over 200 qualified caregivers
serving seniors throughout the five-county service area.
The company began receiving recognition for its services
and as a quality place to work soon after it opened for
business.
In May 2005 they received the Older Worker and Exemplary
Employer Award from the state’s Employment Development
Department. The awards program honors businesses and
individuals for their exemplary contributions to
California's communities and economy.
Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger praised Sequoia Senior
Solutions, stating “In recognition of your outstanding
efforts in sustaining California's older workforce and
the economic well-being of your community, the State of
California is pleased to acknowledge your outstanding
efforts in the hiring and retention of older workers and
considers you a role model for all California
employers”.
“These awards really mean that our company is a good
place to work, especially for middle aged and retired
people who want to stay active and contribute to the
community while earning an income,” said Lawson, Vice
President and Chief Financial Officer of the company.
In 2006, 2007 and 2008, Sequoia Senior Solutions was
further honored for quality of service to its clients
and customer satisfaction. The Pinnacle Quality
Certificate is awarded annually by Pinnacle Consulting
of Salt Lake City in recognition of consistence in
excellence, achievement, and commitment to high levels
of service and customer satisfaction. In the customer
survey Sequoia Senior Solutions rose above Pinnacle’s
charted national average and their “best in class”
category.
The caring service of Sequoia Senior Solutions makes it
possible for the elderly to maintain as much
independence as possible, by providing the appropriate
in home assistance and companionship.
